Closed-cell structure.
EPO combines low weight with resilience and repairability, making it well suited to detailed molded RC airframes. Its cellular structure provides volume and shape without the weight of a solid material.
Premium molded EPO construction matched to the aircraft’s size, power system, and performance demands. From lightweight electric aircraft to turbine-capable jets, AeroCore is part of what gives an HSD airframe its distinctive feel.
The foam is not just what the aircraft is made from. It helps define how the airframe feels, handles, and supports the systems inside it.
HSD AeroCore EPO™ is a molded foam construction system selected around each aircraft’s design. Airframe size, equipment weight, speed, and flight loads all influence the choice of material. The result is purposeful construction with the surface detail and refined finish HSD pilots expect.
Different aircraft place different demands on their structure. AeroCore gives HSD the flexibility to select the right balance of weight, rigidity, and durability.
EPO combines low weight with resilience and repairability, making it well suited to detailed molded RC airframes. Its cellular structure provides volume and shape without the weight of a solid material.
Precision molding supports clean panel lines, consistent contours, and detailed surfaces. AeroCore provides the foundation for the painted finishes and scale appearance that bring HSD aircraft to life.
HSD selects the AeroCore grade to suit the aircraft, balancing lightweight performance with the rigidity needed to support its power system, equipment, and operating loads.
AeroCore 35 and AeroCore 20 Pro offer different balances of weight and density. Each grade has a purpose within the HSD aircraft lineup.
Low weight. Refined detail. Responsive flying.
AeroCore 35 is HSD’s lightweight EPO construction option for aircraft where weight efficiency and responsive handling are central to the design. It combines detailed molded surfaces with a resilient airframe structure.
Greater density. Added rigidity. Solid airframe feel.
AeroCore 20 Pro is HSD’s denser EPO construction option for demanding EDF and turbine-capable aircraft. Its material density supports a more rigid airframe foundation for larger power systems, heavier equipment, and higher operating loads.
A higher grade number does not mean a stronger material. AeroCore 20 Pro is the denser option; AeroCore 35 prioritizes lower material weight.
| Design priority | AeroCore 35™ | AeroCore 20 Pro™ |
|---|---|---|
| Material focus | Lightweight EPO construction | Higher-density EPO construction |
| Primary goal | Weight efficiency and responsive handling | Rigidity and support for higher-load applications |
| Airframe character | Lightweight and resilient | Dense, rigid, and solid-feeling |
| Typical application | Selected electric aircraft and EDF models | Selected high-performance EDF and turbine-capable models |
| Surface detail | Precision molded contours and scale detail | Precision molded contours and scale detail |
Material density is one part of the aircraft’s construction. Airframe geometry, internal reinforcement, mounting points, and component connections also contribute to its strength and rigidity.
HSD combines the selected AeroCore grade with the structural features required by each model. Carbon fiber, fiberglass, and dedicated mounting hardware are incorporated where specified in the aircraft’s design.
From lightweight electric flying to the demands of a large jet platform, AeroCore EPO™ helps HSD match the material to the aircraft. Explore each model’s specifications to discover the construction and systems behind its flying experience.
