    Warranty

    HSD North America

    Limited Warranty Policy

Built for Pilots. Backed by Professionals.

HSD products are engineered to demanding standards, and we stand behind the quality of our aircraft, electronics, components and supporting products.

    Effective Date: September 1, 2026
12-Month Warranty Standard coverage against verified manufacturing defects unless otherwise specifically stated.
30-Day LiPo Coverage HSD batteries are covered against verified manufacturing defects during initial use.
Authorized Purchases Coverage applies to FlyHSD.com and Authorized HSD Dealer purchases.
Individual Review Every warranty request is evaluated based on the facts and circumstances of the specific case.

At HSD, we build aircraft, electronics, components and supporting products designed to provide years of enjoyment when assembled, operated, charged, stored and maintained responsibly.

Our goal is simple: treat every customer fairly while protecting the long-term integrity of the HSD brand. Every warranty request is different, and HSD North America will make every reasonable effort to reach a fair, practical and professional resolution based on the circumstances of each case.

    1. Limited Warranty Period

HSD North America warrants qualifying new HSD products against defects in materials and workmanship for twelve (12) months from the original retail purchase date , unless a different warranty period is specifically stated for a particular product.

To qualify, the product must have been purchased:

    • Directly from FlyHSD.com, or
    • From an Authorized HSD Dealer listed on FlyHSD.com at the time of purchase.

Proof of purchase showing the original purchase date and seller is required.

This Limited Warranty applies to the original retail purchaser and is not transferable unless HSD North America approves otherwise in writing.

Products purchased used, secondhand, through private-party transactions, auction sites, or from sellers that were not Authorized HSD Dealers at the time of purchase are not covered by this Limited Warranty.

    2. Initial Product Inspection

Customers should inspect their HSD product promptly after delivery and before permanent assembly, modification, or operation.

Before gluing components, permanently assembling the aircraft, modifying wiring, installing aftermarket equipment, painting, or flying the aircraft, customers should:

    • Inspect the airframe and structural components
    • Inspect visible surfaces for damage
    • Verify that expected hardware and components are present
    • Check major fasteners and factory assembly points
    • Test factory-installed electronics where practical and safe to do so

Customers should retain the original packaging until this initial inspection is complete and the product has been accepted.

Discovering an issue after assembly does not automatically eliminate warranty coverage. However, modifications, operation, repairs, or damage occurring after delivery may affect HSD's ability to determine whether a condition originated during manufacturing.

    3. What the Warranty Covers

Warranty coverage generally applies to verified manufacturing-related conditions, including:

    • Manufacturing defects
    • Defective materials
    • Factory assembly defects
    • Missing factory-installed components
    • Factory-installed electronics that fail because of a manufacturing defect during normal intended use
    • Concealed manufacturing defects present at the time of delivery
    • Other conditions determined by HSD North America to result from manufacturing or workmanship

HSD may require photographs, video, proof of purchase, serial numbers, diagnostic information, return of components, or other documentation before a warranty determination is made.

Important: The existence of a failure does not automatically establish a manufacturing defect. HSD North America will evaluate the available information and determine the likely cause of the failure.

    4. Warranty Remedies

If HSD North America confirms that a condition is covered by this Limited Warranty, HSD may, at its sole discretion:

    • Repair the product
    • Replace a defective component
    • Supply replacement parts
    • Replace the product
    • Provide store credit
    • Refund some or all of the original product purchase price
    • Offer another reasonable solution appropriate to the circumstances

The remedy selected will depend upon the nature of the defect, product availability, repairability, age and condition of the product, and other relevant circumstances.

A covered defect does not automatically entitle the customer to a complete product replacement when the issue can reasonably be resolved through repair or replacement of a component.

    5. Our Commitment

We understand that purchasing a premium RC aircraft is an investment.

Our customer support philosophy is based on fairness, common sense, technical understanding and professional service—not automatic approvals or denials.

Whenever reasonable, our team will work with customers to find a practical solution, including situations where an issue may fall outside the strict terms of this Limited Warranty.

While we cannot guarantee that every request will qualify for warranty coverage, every claim will be reviewed with honesty, respect and professional consideration.

    6. Pilot & Assembly Responsibility

RC aircraft require proper assembly, setup, inspection and operation.

The purchaser and operator are responsible for:

    • Proper assembly
    • Correct radio programming
    • Correct control directions
    • Proper center of gravity
    • Proper battery installation and retention
    • Secure hardware and fasteners
    • Proper control-surface operation
    • Correct failsafe setup where applicable
    • Appropriate power-system configuration
    • Overall airworthiness before operation

A complete preflight inspection should be performed before every flight.

Warranty coverage does not extend to damage caused by improper setup, assembly, programming, maintenance, installation, or failure to verify aircraft airworthiness prior to operation.

    7. Flight Operations & Landing Surfaces

HSD aircraft must be operated in a manner appropriate for their size, design, landing gear, power system, performance capability, and intended use.

    Scale Landing Gear

Unless the product documentation specifically states otherwise, HSD scale landing gear systems are intended for operation from smooth, maintained paved surfaces.

Grass, gravel, dirt, uneven pavement, cracks, holes, surface transitions, tall grass, rough fields, and other irregular surfaces can impose substantially greater loads on:

    • Landing gear struts
    • Retracts
    • Gear mounts
    • Wheels and tires
    • Brakes
    • Gear doors
    • Steering components
    • Surrounding airframe structure
Landing-surface damage is not a manufacturing defect. Damage caused or materially contributed to by operation from grass, gravel, rough, uneven, broken, unsuitable, or unapproved surfaces is not covered by warranty when HSD determines that the operating surface caused or contributed to the failure.

Aircraft specifically designed and documented for operation from grass, unimproved fields, or other surfaces are subject to the operating recommendations published for that particular model.

    Turbine Aircraft

Turbine-powered aircraft should be operated only by pilots with appropriate experience and in accordance with applicable product instructions, flying-site requirements, club rules, turbine-safety practices, and applicable laws or regulations.

    8. Cosmetic & Manufacturing Variations

HSD aircraft are manufactured, finished, assembled, handled, and packaged using production processes that may result in minor cosmetic variation between individual products.

    Normal manufacturing characteristics may include:

    • Minor paint variation
    • Minor color variation
    • Foam texture differences
    • Mold witness marks
    • Minor surface impressions
    • Small decal alignment variations
    • Minor handling or packaging marks

Cosmetic characteristics that do not affect structural integrity, flight safety, functionality, or intended operation are not considered warranty defects.

Significant cosmetic damage present at delivery should be documented before assembly or operation and submitted to HSD Support for review.

    9. Shipping Damage & Delivery Claims

Physical damage occurring while a shipment is in carrier possession is not considered a manufacturing defect and is handled separately under the HSD North America Shipping & Delivery Policy.

Customers should inspect shipments promptly upon delivery and report visible or concealed shipping damage as soon as possible.

Customers must retain the product, outer shipping carton, shipping label, internal packaging, protective materials, accessories and damaged components until HSD Support confirms that they may be discarded.

Shipping-damage claims may require photographs of the shipping carton, shipping label, internal packaging, damaged product and other documentation.

Manufacturing defects present at delivery may qualify for warranty coverage. Physical damage caused during transportation is handled under the Shipping & Delivery Policy.

Damage resulting from competition, demonstration, commercial operation, or other demanding use may be excluded when that use caused or materially contributed to the failure.

Simply participating in an organized event, fly-in, demonstration, or competition does not automatically void the warranty.

    11. Product Modifications & Aftermarket Equipment

Installation of aftermarket equipment does not automatically void the entire HSD warranty.

However, HSD North America is not responsible for damage or failure caused directly or indirectly by:

    • Non-HSD components
    • Modified electrical systems
    • Improperly installed equipment
    • Structural modifications
    • Unauthorized repairs
    • Altered programming
    • Power-system changes

    • Improper charging equipment
    • Modification of connectors or wiring that causes or contributes to the failure
    • Swelling or deterioration resulting from improper use or storage
    • Normal degradation through use

Battery claims may require voltage readings, photographs, charger information, aircraft configuration, and other diagnostic information.

    13. Servos, ESCs, Motors, Flight Controllers & Electronics

HSD electronic components are tested during manufacturing.

If a servo, ESC, motor, flight controller, lighting system, retract controller, or other electronic component is determined to have failed because of a manufacturing defect during normal intended use, HSD North America will determine the appropriate remedy after review.

Electronic components are not covered when damage results from:

    • Crash impact
    • Water or moisture exposure
    • Incorrect voltage
    • Reversed polarity
    • Excessive electrical load

    16. Returns for Warranty Evaluation

Certain products or components may need to be returned to HSD North America for inspection before a warranty determination can be completed.

Return authorization is required. Do not ship any product or component to HSD without prior authorization and shipping instructions from HSD Support.

    Prepaid Warranty Evaluation Shipping

Items Determined Not to Be Covered

If inspection determines that the condition is not covered by this Limited Warranty, including damage resulting from crash, misuse, improper setup, modification, unsuitable operating surfaces, normal wear, improper electrical operation, or another excluded cause, the customer will be responsible for the actual shipping costs associated with the evaluation return and shipment of the product or component back to the customer.

HSD may require payment of those shipping costs before returning the product or component.

    17. Warranty Decisions & Claim Integrity

All warranty determinations are made by HSD North America after review of the available information.

    Each claim is evaluated individually.

HSD North America reserves the exclusive right, subject to applicable law, to determine:

    • Whether a condition constitutes a manufacturing defect
    • Whether the condition is covered by this Limited Warranty
    • Whether an excluded condition caused or contributed to the failure
    • Whether inspection or return is required
    • The appropriate warranty remedy

Troubleshooting assistance, preliminary opinions, automated support responses, or communications made before final review do not constitute warranty approval.

A warranty decision is final only when communicated by HSD North America through an authorized support representative or other authorized written communication.

    Fraudulent or Misrepresented Claims

HSD reserves the right to deny warranty claims involving:

    • Materially false information
    • Altered or falsified documentation
    • Misrepresentation of the cause of damage
    • Intentional concealment of relevant facts
    • Fraudulent proof of purchase
    • Other attempts to obtain warranty benefits improperly

HSD may take additional action when appropriate and permitted by law.

    18. Customer Care Beyond Warranty

Not every customer issue qualifies as a warranty claim, but that does not necessarily mean HSD cannot help.

HSD North America may, at its sole discretion, provide assistance outside the terms of this Limited Warranty.

    Goodwill assistance may include:

    • Technical support
    • Discounted replacement parts
    • Repair assistance
    • Store credit
    • Discounted replacement products
    • Another reasonable customer-care solution
Goodwill assistance does not expand the warranty.

Any assistance provided outside this Limited Warranty is voluntary, determined on a case-by-case basis, does not constitute an admission of warranty liability, does not establish precedent for future claims, and does not modify or expand the terms of this Limited Warranty.

    19. Authorized HSD Dealers

A current list of Authorized HSD Dealers will be maintained on FlyHSD.com.

For warranty purposes, dealer authorization is determined based on the dealer's status at the time the product was originally purchased.

A product purchased from a dealer while that dealer was officially authorized remains eligible for warranty consideration even if the dealer's authorization status later changes.

Proof of purchase identifying the dealer and original purchase date is required.

    20. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, HSD North America's liability under this Limited Warranty is limited to the repair, replacement, store credit, refund, or other authorized remedy for the covered HSD product.

HSD North America shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

    • Loss of use
    • Loss of profits
    • Loss of business
    • Travel expenses
    • Competition expenses
    • Event expenses
    • Loss or damage to other equipment
    • Property damage
    • Personal injury
    • Other losses arising from the use or inability to use an HSD product

Some jurisdictions do not permit certain exclusions or limitations of warranties or damages. In those jurisdictions, portions of these limitations may not apply.

Nothing in this Limited Warranty is intended to eliminate rights that cannot legally be waived under applicable federal, state, provincial, or local law.

    21. Other Legal Rights

This Limited Warranty provides purchasers with specific contractual warranty rights.

Customers may also have additional rights under applicable federal, state, provincial, or local consumer-protection laws.

Where applicable law provides rights or remedies that cannot be excluded or limited, those rights remain unaffected by this policy.

    22. Right to Update

HSD North America reserves the right to modify this Limited Warranty Policy at any time.

Unless otherwise required by applicable law, the warranty terms published on FlyHSD.com at the time of the original retail purchase will govern that purchase.

Updates to this policy will not retroactively reduce warranty rights already provided to an eligible purchaser where prohibited by law.
